History

The VPTA is a private nonprofit corporation. Incorporated in 1986, our purpose is to promote the economic and social welfare of Vermont residents by encouraging, developing and providing transportation services to access employment, education, medical, social, recreational, and other services.

The VPTA provides information about public transportation to the public and to policymakers; coordinates information, and resource sharing for members, and contracts with government agencies to administer and develop transportation services statewide.
