Stagecoach is also the area’s Medicaid broker, annually arranging over 18,000 passenger trips to medical services. These rides are arranged using volunteer drivers, taxis and Stagecoach routes. Volunteer drivers providing rides using their own car, annually travel up to 350,000 miles in driving people to medical appointments. Commuter transportation is operated along two routes; the River Route from Wells River along the I-91 corridor and the 89er from Randolph along the I-89 corridor. Both routes serve Upper Valley destinations at the VA Hospital and Gilman Center in White River Junction, Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital and Dartmouth College. Connections with Advance Transit for travel within the Upper Valley are also possible. The Stagecoach facility on Depot Square in Randolph serves as the station stop for the “Vermonter” Amtrak service and has been an important addition to the town’s revitalization process. Annually, the Stagecoach provides 75,000 passenger trips.
