Green Mountain Community Network

The Green Mountain Community Network offers a variety of fixed-route, demand response, and coordinated transit services to the residents of Bennington County. The Green Mountain Community Network is also the Medicaid/Reach Up transportation provider for Bennington County. Our services meet the special needs of senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and transportation disadvantaged members of the community as well as the general public riders and visitors to the region.

Our Green Mountain Express buses, with their recognizable green and white striped pattern, operate on two fixed routes. In addition to the local routes the Green Mountain Express makes four daily round trip runs between Bennington and Manchester providing a much needed job access route. The Bennington/Manchester job access route is our fastest growing service. Riders express great satisfaction with this seven-day-a-week service. Ridership and equipment needs continue to grow each year resulting in a total of over 70,000 rides provided each year. Our staff collaborates with area medical and social service agencies.GMCARC bus Rides are individually scheduled for elders and persons with disabilities for medical appointments, to run errands, or to access other essential services. Children and adults needing daycare transport also rely on these services. Area nursing homes and various state agencies also depend on Green Mountain vehicles to transport their residents and clients.

Green Mountain recognizes the important role that transportation plays in the lives of all Vermonters. The mission of the Green Mountain Express Transportation Program is to provide safe, reliable, on-time transit services, getting the maximum number of individuals where they need to go, when they need to go, in a courteous and professional manner.
