Town of Brattleboro
Public Transportation Service
 Brattleboro BeeLine logo

The Town of Brattleboro currently provides a fixedroute service connecting the downtown area with Route 5 to the north and Route 9 to the west under contract with Town and Village Transportation Services, Inc., of Chester, VT. In addition, the town offers complementary paratransit services within a 3/4-mile range of its fixed route.

Since its inception, Brattleboro has approached its bus service with an eye toward the community. In 2000, Brattleboro looked to the community to breatheBeeline Bus new life into the system by sponsoring a contest for children to rename the bus and create a new design for its exterior. The Brattleboro BeeLine was the winning entry submitted by 35 third-grade students from Green Street School, who each drew a honeybee and a clover as part of an overall design that corresponds to the BeeLine name. The design has special significance in that the honeybee is the State Insect and the clover is the State Wildflower.

The BeeLine offers extended evening hours on the first Friday of each month, providing residents transportation downtown to enjoy Brattleboro’s Gallery Walk. The service also runs fare free on all election/voting days to get residents to the polls.

Ridership on the BeeLine continues to grow, with approximately 4,000 riders monthly, an increase credited to greater reliability and timeliness of service.Beeline Parade
